Education, education! Read all about it!

Two weeks ago here on Below the Line, we wonderd where the debate about education policy was. Both sides weren't talking about education, even though it's one of the new PM's passions.

Ryan - a three way fight

Ryan - a delightful Queensland electorate stretching from the suburbs of Brisbane, across national parks and rivers, uniting rich celebrities and dirty hippies.

It's also very marginal, and the Liberal Party will be fighting against their own defector, Michael Johnson to hold it.

immigration - what's the big deal?

Immigration. Are you sick of it? The campaign has been dominated by it.

But are we trivialising the issue in pursuit of a good soundbite? And is this really about 'Western Sydney voters', or is this our own rascism and classism?

Jessie Schanzle and Tamzin Byrne spoke to:

Cashing in on Cash for Clunkers.

Would you give up your bomb for $2000? Probably?

What about if you HAVE to spend that money on a more environmentally, hybrid car?

Do citizens' like the Citizens' Assembly?

We have a parlianment, 150 people in the House of Representitives and 68 in the Senate. So Julia Gillard's idea of choosing 150 random australians to decide whether or not we take action on climate change has taken the electorate as a little odd.

Do we need a citizens' assembly? Is there a consensus on climate change? Below the Line reporter Emma Buckley Lennox hit Queen Victoria Market to see what the citizens' think.

Abbott's standing Green Army

One of Tony Abbott's first announcements in the election campaign was that he would establish a "standing Green Army, 15 000 strong".

It's a scheme he's been working on since the beginning of the year, and it's something that he personally is passionate about.

One of the first projects to be supported by the Green Army will be at Peppergreen Farm, in Ballarat.

Melbourne - it's Greens versus Labor

The electorate of Melbourne may be, on the pendulum a very safe Labor seat, but it's not your traditional Labor vs Liberal bash up. This time, the Greens have a real chance of getting their first seat in the Federal House of Representatives.

So, what's changed to make Melbourne more green? And what are the issues that effect the electorate the most.

Emma Buckley Lennox spokes to Cath Bowtell, the Labor candidate and Adam Bandt, The Greens candidate.

corangamite - what are the big issues

Corangamite - one of the country's most marginal electorates. The ABC's Antony Green tips is as one of the most likely to revert to the Liberal Party.

It's a big electorate, from the Barwon River in Geelong, through the mortgage belt of Waurn Ponds and Grovedale, to western Victoria and the South Australian border.

Tamz asked the Geelong Advertiser's election-chaser, Jeff Whalley, what he thinks the big issues will be, and whether Liberal candidate Sarah Henderson can defeat sitting MP Darren Cheeseman.
