Florence returns with State of the Arts, our segment exploring visual arts events around Melbourne. Florence spoke Sapna Chandu, an artist from Manifestations of Now, a contemporary multimedia exhibition that highlights new ideas of Australian identity.

Game/Play at NGV Studio

NGV Studio are having an interactive exhibition called Game/Play that invites visitors to experience the latest independently produced games, view game-related art installations, as well as learn to design and play games.
 
Florence talked to Paul Callaghan, the curator of Game/Play, about the different kinds of  board and electronic games on display at NGV Studio and the trends and developments that are happening in the world of independent gaming.

Inherent Vice: Cartoonists at NGV Studio

Florence had an interesting discussion with cartoonist Pat Grant about Inherent Vice, an artist-in-residence project involving eight cartoonists at NGV Studio from 16 July- 14 August.
 
Pat also talked about his comic books, cartooning style and his influences, which range from TV shows to books at the State Library and old photographs.
