Florence brings you the latest in the visual art world with State of the Arts. She spoke to Perth-based artists Abdul Abdullah, Casey Ayres and Nathan Beard about their new art project The Greater Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere at NGV Studio as part of Next Wave Festival. They talked about multiculturalism in contemporary society and how it manifests in art.

NGV Studio are having an interactive exhibition called Game/Play that invites visitors to experience the latest independently produced games, view game-related art installations, as well as learn to design and play games.
 
Florence talked to Paul Callaghan, the curator of Game/Play, about the different kinds of  board and electronic games on display at NGV Studio and the trends and developments that are happening in the world of independent gaming.

Florence had an interesting discussion with cartoonist Pat Grant about Inherent Vice, an artist-in-residence project involving eight cartoonists at NGV Studio from 16 July- 14 August.
 
Pat also talked about his comic books, cartooning style and his influences, which range from TV shows to books at the State Library and old photographs.
