First budget backdown: Social work or psychology?

Funding changes in the recent Federal Budget were set to scrap a Medicare rebate for social workers dealing with mental health - a move which would've reduced access to a vital service for low-income earners.

The change has been deferred following pressure from social workers across Australia, but are social workers sidelined to psychologists? What role do they play in tackling mental health issues?

Bullying at work

You might have heard about Brodie Panlock, the 19-year-old waitress who committed suicide after being bullied at the cafe where she worked. 

The cafe and the four accused were fined over $300,000 - but there are still no laws around workplace bullying in Australia.
