Lines blur between ally and enemy in Afghanistan

Imagine serving in Afghanistan, you're in the middle of combat and one of your allies starts shooting. Three soldiers were shot dead and seven wounded by a gunman wearing an Afghan army uniform on Saturday. Hayley Crane reports.

Afghanistan: the never-ending war

Three Aussie soldiers were killed and seven injured when their chopper crashed in northern Kandahar, Afghanistan, early yesterday morning, bringing the death toll of Australian soldiers in the region to 16.

What are we doing in Afghanistan, and why hasn't the Australian government committed to bringing our soldiers back home?
