At the The Screen Futures Youth Festival, we listened to a panel discussion about writing for young people and different audiences, as well as the different rules set by the Australian Media and Communications Authority and how this affects writing in the media. The panel discussion included Bernadette O'Mahoney, Doug Mcleod, Hollly Tosi and Fiona Wood.

Dean and Bron chat to the founder and Director of Musicians Making a Difference Dominic Brook Kelsall about the organisation's work and the upcoming 351 Camp, where youth get the oppourtunity to work with artist's such as Ryan Buckland, Mirrah and Mistery.

Counting the young homeless

On the 9th of August this year everyone in Australia will complete a form, to be counted as part of the Census which happens once every 5 years. But there is one group of Australians which are harder to reach, the homeless. Despite the best efforts of census collectors, there are still thousands of homeless people who are left uncounted.

Last week Federal Health Minister Nicola Roxon came to SYN to announced the location of 10 new Headspace youth mental health services.
