Prithvi spoke to Kate Kendal who played the lead role in Melissa Reeves' play 'Furious Mattress, part of the 2010 season at Melbourne's Malthouse Theatre
 
Based loosely upon the true story of an exorcism that went tragically wrong in Victoria's Castlemaine in the 1990s, Reeves' play explores the danger of caging a free spirit and fear of sexuality and femininity before the backdrop of the high summer heat of the Victorian bush. From the fantastical to the stark reality of human emotion the journey was an exhausting one for Kate who discusses the trials she faced in bringing protagonist Else to her ultimately heart-wrenchingly tragic finale
