Interview with Vivien Gaston, curator of The Naked Face: Self Portraits at the NGV

Florence talked to Dr. Vivien Gaston about her latest exhibition showing at the NGV called The Naked Face: Self-Portraits
 
The Naked Face: Self-Portraits is showing until the 27th of February at The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, Federation Square (Level 3, Gallery 17). 

 
Vivien is also hosting a symposium on Saturday the 19th of February from 1.30-4.30pm, featuring artists Julie Rrap and Lewis Miller, film and cultural critic Adrian Martin and Professor John Sutton from the Macquarie Centre for Cognitive Science.  They will be discussing the creative process of artists and how this relates to the latest scientific findings about the human brain, such as the idea that emotions and identity are shaped by our self-consciousness.
