Two weeks ago here on Below the Line, we wonderd where the debate about education policy was. Both sides weren't talking about education, even though it's one of the new PM's passions.
But this week both sides have announced some sort of education policy, the government's including performance pay for teachers and the introduction of an Australian Baccalaureate.
The Opposition unvieled, mirroring the government's performance pay scheme, creating a schools technology fund and 30 new technical colleges.
But what does all this actually mean, and is it the right policy at the right time.
Reporter Emma Buckley Lennox spoke to Professor of Education at Melbourne Uni Richard Teese see if he knew how all this policy would actually work?
