Notice of Annual General Meeting - Thursday 14th November 2024

 
Notice to SYN Members

Please be advised that in accordance with our constitution, the Annual General Meeting of the Student Youth Network Inc. (No. A0039919B) will be held as follows:

Thursday 14th November, 2024 at 6:15pm at RMIT University Building 12, Level 3, Room 97 (the SYN classroom)

The annual report and audited financial statements will be presented to the members, and elections for the Board of Management will be held.

This meeting will also be streamed via Zoom, but please note that all voting will be conducted in person only. If you are unable to make it in person on the night, please see details of proxy voting below.

 

SYN BOARD ELECTIONS - NOMINATIONS

Four positions are open for election onto the SYN Board of Management at the 2024 Annual General Meeting. These are voluntary positions, and term lengths are two years from election. Committee members are expected to attend monthly board meetings, held on the last Wednesday of each month.

SYN Members can nominate as a candidate for a board position by submitting a nomination form [SYN Board Nomination Form 2024] signed by two voting members of the Association and accompanied by the written consent of the candidate. All nomination forms must be submitted to gm@syn.org.au by EOD November 7th, 2024.

 

VOTING AT THE 2024 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

To vote at the 2024 annual general meeting, you must be a current member for no less than 3 months prior to the annual general meeting, or a current committee member. Voting ballots will be handed out on the night.

Proxy votes can be allocated (as per the proxy form) to anyone attending the AGM, with the following guidelines:

  1. Proxy votes must be submitted 24 hours prior to the AGM; by Wednesday 13th November, 6pm. Forms are available for download here [SYN Proxy Form 2024] and can be submitted to the General Manager, Ruby Smith, at gm@syn.org.au
  2. No more than three proxy votes can be allocated to any one person.

MEMBERSHIPS AND FAQs

Out of date SYN memberships must be renewed at least 24 hours prior to the AGM. If you need to renew your SYN membership, you can get in touch with Community Manager, Caitlin Ramsay, at community@syn.org.au
