Police seize firearms

Police have arrested two men and taken a large stash of firearms and ammunition from a house in Park Orchards.

Police also took a small amount of cannabis from the property.

They arrested a 33-year-old and a 26-year-old as part of the investigation.

The men have since been released pending further enquiries.

Bali flight turnaround

A Jetstar flight from Melbourne to Bali has had to turn around due to an unruly passenger.

9 News has published a video showing the passenger swearing and threatening passengers and crew.

The pilot sought assistance from the Australian Federal Police and returned to Melbourne.

The AFP met the plane on arrival and are investigating.

Olympic stadium stoush

Rideshare company Uber has agreed to pay $272 million to Australian taxi drivers.

The money will settle a five-year class action brought by 8,000 people.

Lawyers for the claim argued Uber’s unregulated operation caused taxi drivers and hire car drivers a loss of income.

Uber says “with today’s proposed settlement, we put these legacy issues firmly in our past”.

EPL: Melbourne friendly

And in the English Premier League: Tottenham Hotspur have announced it will play Newcastle United at the MCG.

The friendly match will take place in May, after the EPL season.

It will be a homecoming for Hotspur coach Ange Postecoglou who grew up in Melbourne before coaching in EPL.

The event is part of Global Football Week – which will also see three Matildas take to the field.
