Communities On Air

Does your community group have the gift of storytelling? 

Communities On Air is SYN’s live-to-air educational, radio training program where community groups broadcast regularly (weekly, fortnightly, monthly) on SYN 90.7 FM throughout a period (for example. 3 months). The package includes a 2-hour training workshop, and the support of a SYN producer in the studio during weekly recording sessions.

In the 2-hour training workshop, participants will:

  • Learn about responsible broadcasting, radio show structure and script writing
  • Practice planning and presenting a radio segment in groups
  • Record a short demo in our professional studios
  • Learn how to prepare and present their weekly shows
  • Develop skills in public speaking, team work, organisation, communication, working to a brief, research and planning.
  • Receive templates and resources to complete their live show preparation after the training workshop

Duration: 2 hours + regular 30 minute, 1 hour and 2 hour shows
