Eora/Sydney brothers Oli and Louis of Lime Cordiale hit the road for their biggest and “most environmentally friendly [Australian] tour” to date, following the release of their latest album ‘Enough Of The Sweet Talk’. Fans were in for a real treat with support from singer songwriter Aleksiah and well-loved band Ball Park Music, who are long time friends of the boys.
This tour was the culmination of their music career, spanning over 10 years. They’ve played shows at classic Naarm venues like The Workers Club and Northcote Social Club, but 2024 was their time to take it up a notch — and they certainly did.
It was an eventful Tuesday night show! Oli and Louis brought their classic larrikin energy on stage with guitar licking, an interlude of fake boxing and kazoo solos. Their silk sets were also very fitting with the 70s Americana desert aesthetic seen in the stage design. The screens even showed the band’s name in the style of the Stranger Things logo right before performing their song ‘Imposter Syndrome’. Louis’ moves were so babygirl too. If you know, you know.

Their infectious, groovy indie pop-rock is always engaging and it was great to hear most of their latest tracks translated in a live context. My personal favourites off the new album would have to be ‘Pedestal’, ‘Facts Of Life’ and ‘Imposter Syndrome’. ‘Pedestal’ was the opening song, which was a fantastic choice as it set a lively tone for the evening.
I was hanging out for classics like ‘Colin’, their cover of Divinyls’ ‘I Touch Myself’ from triple j’s Like A Version and ‘Inappropriate Behaviour’, which did not disappoint.
The only thing missing from their setlist were songs from their EP with the iconic Idris Elba, titled ‘Cordi Elba’. I would have loved to hear these, but understandably, they were cut. I hope to witness ‘What’s Not To Like’ and ‘Holiday’ live one day because these two particular tracks are elite.
As someone who is no stranger to their music but has only caught glimpses of their sets at festivals, it felt special to witness this full show in a space like John Cain Arena.
