Radical Pop-timism: Dua Lipa giving us “Something To Remember” in Melbourne
26th March 2025

Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism tour was everything you'd expect from one of pop's biggest stars, and then some. Her Melbourne show at Rod Laver Arena was an energetic blend of infectious hits, stunning visuals and a crowd that was 100% here for it.
Emerging spectacularly from a smoke bomb to the sound of Training Season, Lipa wasted
no time in getting the crowd hyped. The momentum only picked up from there, with tracks
like Break My Heart, Levitating and Physical turning the arena into one big dance party
with an explosion of energy and rainbows of confetti.
But it wasn’t just about the music - it was how Lipa connected with the crowd. She has a
way of making a huge arena feel so intimate. Throughout the night, she engaged with her
fans, taking selfies, hugging and sharing moments that left them breathless, overwhelmed
and screaming for more.
This tour supports her latest album Radical Optimism - taking risks in trying new sounds, but
her trademark “disco pop” from previous albums is where listeners thrive, and where
Lipa succeeds in creating the experience that the crowd is cheering for.
A showstopping moment was Lipa’s nod to Australian music royalty with her
cover of Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out of My Head. The energy in the room was
electric, with everyone screaming, dancing and living for every second of it!

There were plenty of jaw-dropping moments throughout the show - specifically her
performance of Got Me In Love Again. Basked in drama, red lights and a crimson fur coat,
a ring of fire surrounded Lipa as she performed, soaring into the air on her circular stage,
floating above the crowd in a moment that was nothing short of insane.
Visually, the show was a masterclass in pop performance and a kaleidoscope of
entertainment. From the electrifying choreography to the soundscapes and backdrops,
every song was amplified with sharp visuals commanding the audience’s attention. Lipa’s
stage presence is magnetic, and her energy never dipped, erupting the crowd to their
collective feet to dance along.
Dua Lipa is at the peak of her career, and her Melbourne show was a reminder of why
she’s leading the way in pop. An unforgettable night of music, energy and Radical
Optimism.
